NUMBSKUL was conceived in a Hermosa Beach garage in 1992 as an alternative to the big sports-related, advertising-driven concepts that have so dominated branded apparel the last twenty years.  We are talking about an alternative like REM and U2 were once alternative rock bands before they became pop stars. NUMBSKUL is more “Zorba the Greek” than it is “Nike” (Why Do It?), more the experience of being alive than a search for the meaning of life. True to itself and nothing else. NUMBSKUL is simplicity, the art of leaving things undone and the elimination of nonessentials. It is all you will ever need to wear, if you have to wear anything at all. Always irreverent, hopefully funny, but never mean. That is NUMBSKUL. 

Seventeen years later, we're still in a garage, and we don't care! We hope this site turns into a place you will visit often and stay a while. The MP3 player on the Home page is going to be filled with great music from up and coming bands. The Featured Video will also be updated with some of the best videos we have found on the web, as well as some of our own NUMBSKUL productions.  

But we don't want to be just an eCommerce company. If there are stores near you that you think should carry NUMBSKUL, let us know (and let them know!). But while we are only on the Internet, make the most out of the site and send us a picture of yourself wearing NUMBSKUL apparel.
